As the 19th edition of the IPL reaches its business end, the BCCI has begun preparing for the upcoming series after the cash-rich league. Notably, the apex cricket board of India released a 15-member India A squad for the upcoming tri-series in June, which will feature Sri Lanka A, India A, and Afghanistan A.
India A Squad For Tri-Series
The India A squad will be led by Tilak Varma, with Priyansh Arya, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Riyan Parag, Ayush Badoni, Nishant Sindhu, Harsh Dubey, Suryansh Shedge, Prabhsimran Singh, Kumar Kushagra, Vipraj Nigam, Yash Thakur, Yudhvir Singh, Anshul Kamboj, and Arshad Khan making up the rest of the team.
India’s Alternate Squad For Ireland And England Tour
With the tri-series squad unlikely to feature in the Ireland or England tour, an alternate squad has been predicted. The batters include Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Sai Sudharsan, Shreyas Iyer, Naman Dhir, and Rinku Singh.
Among the batters, Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson are likely to be the primary openers, with Shubman Gill‘s performance in IPL 2026 not enough to secure a spot. Sai Sudharsan is likely to be the backup opener, having become the first player in IPL 2026 to breach the 500 run mark.
All Rounders
The all-rounders include Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, and Axar Patel. Axar Patel has not had the best of seasons, but his performance for India has earned him a spot in the squad. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar will lead the all-rounders category, with NKR having a brilliant season for SRH.
Bowlers
The bowlers include Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Prince Yadav, Kartik Tyagi, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravi Bishnoi. Every player included will make their India return or a maiden call-up, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar returning to the Indian team after not playing a solitary match since 2022.
