Australia bat first and recall Hardie in bid to wrap up T20I series
Australia Opt to Bat First in Second T20I Against Bangladesh
Australia captain Mitchell Marsh chose to bat first against Bangladesh in the second T20I in Chattogram, as the visitors look to wrap up the series. The decision comes after Bangladesh captain Towhid Hridoy took the same decision in the first game on Wednesday.
Team Changes
The home side made two changes, resting Shoriful Islam and Mahedi Hasan, and bringing in fast bowler Nahid Rana and left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed. This will be Rana’s second T20I, having previously played against UAE more than a year ago. Hridoy continues to lead the side in the absence of the injured Litton Das.
Australia, on the other hand, have made one change, drafting in allrounder Aaron Hardie in place of Xavier Bartlett, which will lengthen the batting. This is Hardie’s first international appearance since facing South Africa last August. It means that spin-bowling allrounders Nikhil Chaudhary and Joel Davies will have another chance to impress after making their debuts in the opening game.
Series Standings
Australia lead the series 1-0 after winning the first match by four wickets. The visitors will be looking to seal the series with a win in the second T20I.
