Anamul Haque Bijoy Breaks Tamim Iqbal’s Record with 25th List A Century

Mohammedan Sporting Club produced a record-breaking batting display against Abahani Limited in the final round of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL), piling up a massive 406 for 4 at BKSP Ground No. 3.

The innings was powered by brilliant centuries from Anamul Haque Bijoy and Parvez Hossain Emon, whose explosive batting not only put Mohammedan in a commanding position but also earned them places in the record books.

Bijoy played a superb knock of 141 from 115 balls, while Emon went even bigger, smashing 150 from just 116 deliveries. Their dominant performances helped Mohammedan register one of the highest totals in Bangladesh’s List A cricket history.

A Record-Breaking Achievement

The match was particularly memorable for Bijoy, who reached a significant personal milestone. His century was the 25th of his List A career, making him the Bangladeshi batter with the most centuries in List A cricket history. Until now, Bijoy had shared the record with Tamim Iqbal, with both players having 24 centuries. However, his latest hundred moved him clear at the top of the list.

What makes the achievement even more impressive is the number of innings required. Tamim scored his 24 List A centuries in 320 innings, while Bijoy reached 25 centuries in just 234 innings.

A Historic Team Performance

Mohammedan’s total of 406 for 4 also became the second-highest innings by a Bangladeshi team in List A cricket. The record for the highest total still belongs to Prime Bank Cricket Club, who scored 422 for 8 against Brothers Union in the previous DPL season. In that match, Naim Sheikh starred with a remarkable 176 from 125 balls before Prime Bank went on to win comfortably.
